Genshai – What Does It Mean And How Can It Benefit You?

by | Empowerment, Mindset

Genshai

I have a special word for you today. And the word is Genshai. [pronounced: Gen-shy] But before I explain what it means, let me ask you a few questions:

Two Questions For You

Have you ever compared yourself to others and told yourself something like “I do not have that talent?” Or, you told yourself, “She is such an eloquent speaker, I never know what to say,” and therefore you concluded you’ll never become as good as that person? Or even as successful as that person. OR Have you looked at the world around you, your surroundings, your environment and you felt that the world or the Universe is treating you unfairly? That nothing ever goes right for you? That you never get a break? You see, we do not see the world around us as it actually is. We see the world around us as we see ourself. And ourself is a reflection of our thoughts. And our thoughts are made up of words. Words that we keep repeatedly say to ourself that made us believe them.

Your Life’s Purpose

That is your life purpose, isn’t? Because life purpose is not all about you. It’s about the person whom you helped, the ones who received your gifts that made them stronger, that transformed their worries, problems, pain into happiness and success. You made them feel special. They don’t feel small. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said,

“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”

Genshai- never treat another person in a manner that makes him feel small, including yourself. In its purest essence, Genshai is  – lifting one another to have a richer, more fulfilling lives instead of feeling inferior or superior to anyone.
